As always, Pam, I'm a bit late to the game.
I was probably busy making book boxes with Stacy, or maybe I had to run
to the house, or it could be there was an "emergency" involving a
paper order...who knows...?! In any case, you are not a person to ever be
forgotten! Your smile, enthusiasm, honesty and overall
"mensch-ness" sure made a difference in my life.
I remember my first
day at Kaiser in 1990 (!). Chaos was in the air (shocker), and your
office was piled with papers everywhere, on the chairs, on the window sills, on
your desk (shocker again -- I say it with love), and you picked a big stack off
a chair, threw it on the floor, where all the papers toppled over in disarray,
and said, "Have a seat. I think we both are going to be here for a
while!" No truer words wore spoken by either of us...
The "face"
of Kaiser was always you, Pam. Oh sure, others appeared to be the face of
Kaiser, but you were always the glue that held everyone (and everything -- Pam,
jack of all trades, fixing copiers and fax machines and telephones before the
repair person ever arrived) together. How lucky we were, and we didn't
even know it. You were a boss, a friend, a co-worker, a mom, and whatever
we needed you to be, you were, all the while cheerleading each of us and the
company.
I'm so happy you are
retiring, though the loss at Kaiser will be immeasurable. You deserve
warm weather, fruity drinks, sleeping in, time with your beautiful family
(Michael is still in single digits, right), and most of all, NO STRESS!
Thanks, Pam, for making my years at Kaiser so memorable and
for sharing in the crazy with me. I adore you and wish you the best today
and always.
XO, Beth
